Generally, after a claim for Social Security disability is denied at the initial level, a request for reconsideration of that decision must be submitted by the claimant to start the appeal process.
If your initial claim for Social Security Disability (SSD) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) has been denied, you need knowledgeable, experienced advocates who will assess your claim in order to develop strategic actions in response to the denial of your initial claim.
After you file an initial application for Social Security Disability benefits, it will be reviewed by the Social Security Administration (SSA), the federal agency responsible for approving or denying claims. If you have been denied disability benefits, you have sixty (60) days to appeal that decision.
Francis Bacon once said, "We rise to great heights on a winding staircase of small steps." The process can be long but the wait is rewarding.
